How to play Russian Solitaire
Open Russian Solitaire, check the instructions and begin a round. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Make your first input carefully and watch the result. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.
Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.
Try a deliberate move
After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Keep the objective visible.
Your goal
Build four suit foundations from ace to king. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Keep the controls in easy reach.
Step by step
- Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
- Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
- Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
- Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.
Controls
Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Use the control method described here for this activity. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.
A useful example
A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Notice the change in the playing area.
Watch out for this
Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Compare the situation with the worked example. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
